The new standard NF EN 17033 was released on January 24th and its next review is scheduled for January 2023. This European standard has the status of a French standard (classification index: T 54-423) « approved by decision of the Director General of AFNOR. It relates to the requirements for biodegradable mulch films applications in agriculture and horticulture that are made from thermoplastic materials. It also applies to « films intended to biodegrade in the soil without creating a negative impact on the environment ». Finally, this new standard specifies also methods for evaluating manufacturing criteria as well as « packaging, identification and marking requirements for films ». To know more:
